The first all glass refrigeration system in the world
In 1963 John C. Schaub Sr. built and presented the first portable all glass refrigeration system in the United States. John Schaub was funded by Worthington Corporation to engineer, manufacturer and explain the portable system. The system was a 1/4 Hp R-12 unit, made of Pyrex glass from Fischer Porter Corp. It contained a Tecumseh compressor and Sporlan valves. This system gained national recognition as the first of its kind. It was demonstrated at conventions, colleges & seminars nationwide.
